active Status requirements
Note: The requirements outlined above are the minimum to maintain active status within the organization; members are encouraged to participate in as many events as possible. Following the CDC and the University of Hawaii's health guidance, all events for this semester will be conducted virtually. While a Zoom account is not required, it is highly encouraged. Personal Zoom accounts will help with logistics and identifying our members in more significant events.
Academic requirements
- Concurrent enrollment at UH Manoa with a declared major of accounting is required. Graduate students are not required to have an undergraduate degree in Accounting. However, they must be a registered Master of Accounting candidate at Shidler College of Business.
- Must have a minimum of 60 credit units at the time of applying and must have at least two (2) semesters left at UH.
- Required courses:
- Completion of or in equivalence to Accounting 201 & 202; Graduate students with a conferred Bachelor's degree are waived from undergrad course requirements.
- Prospective candidates must have completed at least one upper-division accounting course (ACC 300+). Graduate students with a conferred Bachelor's degree are waived from undergrad course requirements.
- Required GPA (Undergrad):
- Associate: Minimum 3.2 accounting GPA and 3.2 cumulative GPA
- Candidates: Must meet one of the three criteria below
- Minimum 3.2 accounting GPA and 3.2 cumulative GPA
- Minimum 3.5 accounting GPA and 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Minimum 3.2 accounting GPA with upper-division courses and 3.4 cumulative GPA within the last year
- Required GPA (Graduate):
- Associate: No GPA requirement
- Candidates: Minimum 3.2 accounting GPA and 3.2 cumulative GPA with grad division courses OR graduate students entering their first semester in the MAcc program can opt into one of the undergrad candidate criteria above.
Community Service & fundraising REQUIREMENTS
Community Service:
BAP members are to participate in events that would amount to 4 hours of community service. During this virtual environment, our members will be able to participate in virtual community service efforts. Members with other community service ideas may suggest ideas to the BAP community service chair for approval.
Fundraising:
Member fundraising quotas for the Spring 2021 semester are waived.
Car Wash: 2 each semester, members are required to participate in 1

strike system
BAP values professionalism, responsibility, and dedication. BAP members are expected to upheld their commitments not only within their own personal development but also towards the improvement and comradely of their peers.
- 1st Strike: Warning will be given
- 2nd Strike: Member will receive an official email warning; member must make up the event
- 3rd Strike: Associates will not be considered a member; Candidates will repeat respective semester. Executive team to discuss potential expulsion from BAP activities for the semester.
Changes to the membership requirements have been made to accommodate the virtual environment for the Spring 2021 semester. The executive board monitors the changes happening in the state and the University of Hawaii to adjust as necessary. For a full list of requirements, please refer to the member handbook linked above.
